Cape Symphony patron Peg Nicholson happily “washed ashore” in Falmouth in the late 1990s. A lifelong classical music lover, she first discovered the Cape Symphony at a “Pops Goes the Summer” Labor Day weekend event on the Cape Cod Fairgrounds, and became a regular concertgoer. Before long, a friend coaxed her on to the Advisory Committee, then to the Finance Committee, and “next I knew they were recruiting me for the Board!” Peg served four years on the Cape Symphony Board of Trustees, and has been an avid supporter of the Symphony’s mission.

The Cape Symphony Orchestra presents “Holiday on the Cape” at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM, Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 3:00 PM and 7:30 PM, and Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

At this season’s Holiday on the Cape concerts on December 5, 6, & 7, 2025, Cape Symphony will lead a Holiday Pops Care Drive in collaboration with The Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center (CIVOC). CIVOC’s mission to provide comprehensive life sustaining services for veterans and their families is one we fully support, and we know our audiences do, too.

The Cape Symphony Orchestra presents “A Salute to Service” at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center at 4:00 PM on November 15 and 3:00 PM on November 16, 2025.
Ticketholders are invited to a discussion of the concert program led by George Scharr one hour before each performance.

Cape Symphony Youth Orchestra students aren’t just talented kids in a great program; they’re hardworking musicians and kind, supportive colleagues. Principal Oboe Charlotte Skinner and Principal Flute Hannah Chung are an “iconic pair,” with a friendship founded in their shared love of music.
