Three community leaders tapped to serve on nonprofit board
WEST BARNSTABLE, MA—July 20, 2026
Cape Arts & Entertainment, the nonprofit parent organization of the Cape Symphony Orchestra, Cape Symphony Presents, and Cape Symphony Conservatory & Preschool, has named Sherie Bush, Maria Trozzi, and Margaret Van Sciver to its 2026-2027 Board of Trustees.
Chatham resident Sherie Bush is a former partner at an international law firm where her practice focused on commercial finance, capital markets, and nonprofit governance and finance. She is a resident member of the Harvard Musical Association, a board member and Executive Director of the Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra, and a board member of the Multiverse Concert Series, a Boston-based collaboration with the Museum of Science and the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. Past performing arts volunteer roles include leadership positions with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, the American Baroque Orchestra, the former Atlanta Lyric Theatre, Georgia Academy of Music, the former Monomoy Theatre in Chatham, and more.
Maria Trozzi of West Yarmouth is an author, psychotherapist, and speaker, nationally recognized for her expertise in loss, transitions, and resilience in times of crisis. She co-founded the Good Grief Program at Boston Medical Center as an Assistant Professor of Developmental Pediatrics at Boston University School of Medicine. Her book, Talking with Children About Loss, is an essential reference. In the nonprofit world, Maria founded and led Joanna’s Place, offering support to bereaved South Shore children, and dedicated hundreds of hours to the executive leadership of the Junior League of Boston. She was named a “Hero Among Us” by the Boston Celtics after the Haiti earthquake. Maria maintains a clinical practice on Cape Cod.
Margaret Van Sciver of Marstons Mills worked as an investment banker specializing in strategic planning, real estate finance, and loan syndications. She held positions at Morgan Stanley & Co., Bankers Trust Company, and National Westminster Bank. In 1995, Maggie co-founded Whitebriar Financial Corporation, a Cape Cod commercial lender specializing in resort and receivables finance, and served as its CFO until 2024. Maggie has served on the boards of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, Cahoon Museum of American Art, Cape Cod Academy, Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation, Harwich Junior Theater, Oceanside Performing Arts Center, and more. At the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, she served as Board President and chaired the Pops by the Sea fundraising concert.
At its June 24, 2026 annual meeting, the Board also unanimously elected the following members to leadership positions: Robert A. Sigel of Mashpee will serve as Board Chair, and Chatham resident Amanda Davis will be Vice Chair. Duke Bates of Cotuit will be Treasurer, and Falmouth resident Nancy Strickland will serve as Secretary. Longtime Trustee John Meyer was honored as Trustee Emeritus.
The Cape Arts & Entertainment Board of Trustees contributes to the strength of the organization through policy setting, strategic planning, fundraising, and financial management.
